MacKenzie Scott, the ex-wife of Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, has reportedly dedicated a majority of her recent charitable donations, amounting to $640 million, to organizations that advocate for left-leaning causes. Scott’s contributions include a significant support of $122 million for 67 immigrant-advocacy organizations and $117 million for 67 prisoner rights groups, among others.

Besides, Scott is also contributing $72 million to 43 entities promoting “gender identity”, which includes support for biological males identifying as females who wish to participate in women’s sports. Critics, such as Mike Gonzalez from the conservative Heritage Foundation, argued that these donations aim to redirect the capitalist system.

Scott, who has committed to The Giving Pledge to give away most of her wealth, has previously made substantial donations to progressive causes. In 2022, she made a record-breaking donation of $275 million to Planned Parenthood. Scott has inaugurated a database, Yield Giving, for her philanthropic activities and is inviting applications from nonprofit organizations serving underserved communities.
