The Spanish Foundation of Christian Lawyers filed a complaint before the Court of Instruction of Oviedo against the Youth Council of the Principality of Asturias and its director, Daniel Sierra, for a possible crime of corruption of minors.
The organization of jurists criticized the publication of a guide by this organization aimed at 14-year-old children on the practice of sexting. This document encourages minors to engage in this sexual practice and does not warn them of the risks.
The guide recommends the use of “tools that allow you to share your images anonymously […]. One example is the IMGUR website, where you can upload photos without giving any of your personal data.“
Christian Lawyers foundation pointed out that the privacy policy of this app states that, “No image uploaded to Imgur is completely hidden from public view.”
The organization of jurists also underlined that “sexting is not a practice for minors, and talking about positive sexting while at the same time the National Institute of Cybersecurity considers it a risky practice is confusing to say the least”.
José María Fernández, a lawyer of the organization, noted that “those responsible for this guide should be disqualified. We cannot allow a public administration to encourage minors to share images of sexual content on social networks”.
