Jake Tucker, 39, founder of Innisfil Pride in Ontario, has been convicted by a Barrie jury on seven of ten human trafficking-related charges — including trafficking in persons, procuring, and materially benefitting from the sexual services of two women.
Prosecutors said Tucker advertised the women for sexual services, drove them to and from client appointments, and used drugs and violence to maintain control over them. The Crown described his conduct as “coercive, aggressive and violent.”
The investigation began in 2022 after one woman went to police alleging Tucker had trafficked her for years. Officers then located a second victim with similar claims. Tucker acknowledged operating a “swingers’ club” but denied any connection to prostitution.
Tucker remained publicly active with Innisfil Pride after the charges became public in 2022. A neighboring Pride group, Fierté Simcoe Pride, suspended all collaborations with Innisfil Pride that year — while Tucker’s organization continued hosting local events and Tucker continued serving as president.
