Federation Council reacts against anti-family propaganda in Russia

Numerous foreign-funded NGOs promote feminist ideas and aim to reach the youth in Russia. In other words, they are undermining the values that the Russian Constitution requires them to protect.

We have noted more than once that propaganda directed against family and family values is actively supported from abroad by states and organizations whose policies are, to put it mildly, unfriendly to Russia.

The US and UK embassies display “rainbow LGBT” flags on their buildings and then, along with other Five Eyes intelligence countries, make statements calling on Russia to fulfill its alleged “commitments” to “protect the rights of … members of the LGBTI community”.

Organizations affiliated with the George Soros network are amicably forcing a feminist law on the “prevention of domestic violence” in our country, which is openly directed against the family as such.

Numerous foreign-funded NGOs promote feminist ideas and aim to reach the youth in Russia. In other words, with the support of Russia’s enemies, they are undermining the values that the Russian Constitution requires them to protect.

And now, finally, the problem has been brought up at the level of the Federation Council.

This is what Senator Margarita Pavlova, a member of the Federation Council Commission for the Protection of State Sovereignty, said at an enlarged meeting of the Commission on May 31:

“It should be borne in mind that those external forces and unfriendly States that support inter-ethnic and interreligious conflicts in our country and the extremism growing on that basis also provide comprehensive support to the promotion of destructive ideologies in Russia, which are harmful to the family and traditional family values protected by our Constitution. We are talking about propaganda against the family and the rights of parents, about radical feminism, the promotion of abortion and childlessness, and gender and LGBT ideology. All this also directly threatens Russia’s national security by undermining one of its most important foundations – the family.

I am convinced that the subject of protecting the family and traditional family values in the context of ensuring Russia’s national security should be given particular attention. It is no coincidence that this is exactly what Russian President Vladimir Putin said in his recent instructions to the Government.

I would also like to draw attention to the fact that today representatives of destructive forces often try to divert attention from themselves, strenuously trying to label healthy civic forces, citizens defending their rights and our most important values and acting strictly within the law, as “extremists”. This is how the few supporters of destructive ideologies, acting with the support of foreign forces unfriendly to Russia, are trying to put the label of “extremists” on those who defend the family and traditional Russian family, spiritual and moral values, and even on the Russian Orthodox Church.

Very true observations!

Incidentally, Russia is not the only country where anti-family radicals close to George Soros are trying to turn their opponents into “extremists” – normal people who protect the most precious thing: the family and the values associated with it. “Shifting the blame from bad to worse” and accusing those who defend real human rights of “extremism” seems to be a new “methodology” of Soros, which his allies use and will use all over the world.

It is gratifying that this issue has been brought to the attention of the Federation Council, since protecting the family is truly, without exaggeration, a matter of national security. It is to be hoped that the Russian Government remains seriously committed to this issue.
