Father wins custody battle over son’s gender identity against attempt to raise him as nonbinary in California

Following a lengthy legal battle, Harrison Tinsley has finally won full custody of his 4-year-old son, Sawyer. The legal dispute was triggered by Tinsley’s ex-girlfriend’s attempt to raise their son nonbinary. Tinsley firmly believes that his son is a boy and asserts that it’s evil to force such ideologies onto a child.

Tinsley’s successful custody bid is seen as a remarkable victory particularly in the context of California, a state that has passed legislation allowing schools to withhold information from parents regarding a minor’s gender transition. This victory, Tinsley says, inspires him to continue fighting to protect children from these situations.

Intriguingly, San Francisco’s Child Protective Services were called in due to an unspecified “incident”. Tinsley credits them for putting politics aside and acting in what they believed to be the best interest of his son.
