A diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) trainer, Dr. Nancy Dome, is under fire for suggesting staff members resistant to principles of critical race theory (CRT) should be dismissed. Dome’s firm, Epoch Education, has been disseminating CRT in public education, impacting thousands of teachers and administrators.

Dome’s critical comments stem from her 2022 book, “Let’s Talk About Race”, where she described workers resistant to CRT notions, such as white privilege, as a “poison to culture and climate”. Dome goes on to suggest that if a team member isn’t willing to adjust, it may be necessary to remove them from the team or organization.

Epoch Education has been hired by multiple public school districts and lists the U.S. Department of Education among its clients. The firm overtly includes CRT in its programming and runs exercises such as the “color line”, where participants are scored based on their level of perceived privilege.

However, Isaac Newman, a teacher from California who underwent Epoch training, expressed concerns over the content of the training, suggesting that it promotes division and mediocrity.

The Fox News coverage also highlighted Dome’s stance on equality versus equity. Dome emphasizes that equity means giving everyone what they need to thrive, even if it differs from what others get.
