Sven von Storch was born and raised in Osorno, Chile. He trained and studied business administration in Santiago de Chile, Greifswald and Göttingen. After his studies he was a consultant for strategic communication in Chile and Germany for many years. He is married to Beatrix von Storch, a member of the German Bundestag. Von Storch lives in Berlin, where he heads the civic movement Zivile Allianz, from which several civil society initiatives operate. He is editor of the Internet and blog newspaper FreieWelt.net, and director of the Institute for Strategic Studies Berlin.
The family is under attack everywhere. In Germany at every turn, one political decision against the family and the autonomy of parents in their upbringing of the children chases the next. iFamNews spoke with the initiator of the “Initiative Familienschutz” (“Initiative for the Protection of the Family”) and “Christenschutz” (“Initiative for the Protection of Christians”), Sven von Storch, who comments on the current political climate and events in Germany with finesse and insight. His particular concern deals with the “Great Reset” that wants to destroy European values first and foremost the family.

iFamNews: The family is under attack everywhere especially in Germany. What do you consider to be the greatest threat to family at the moment?
Sven von Storch: The family, consisting of father, mother and child, is the basis of nations and the living foundation of civilizations. Decadence and the systematic dismantling of this family image and the associated Christian occidental virtues have already grown very deep into politics. So a short-term turnaround is not to be expected. At least not with the current personnel of the old parties in Germany.
But there are also rays of hope if we look to our eastern and southern neighbors. The conservative forces under Viktor Orbán and Mateusz Morawiecki have opened the door to a life-affirming, child- and parent-friendly policy based on the Christian concept of man. When this light of hope will also trickle through to Germany is uncertain, but I answer with Abraham Lincoln: You can deceive a part of the people for a long time, but not the whole people all the time. The family in the unity of love, responsibility and fidelity will once again become the center of society and politics.
iFamNews: Currently, Angela Merkel is constantly tightening Corona measures in Germany, although her strategy has not yet borne fruit that would justify these measures. What will the long-term consequences of these measures be for society?
Sven von Storch: Merkel government’s Corona policy with its totalitarian lockdowns is destroying our country’s economy and society. Behind this is the motivation of the globalist political and financial elites and left-wing ideologues to carry out a change of system. Corona is misused as a pretext to destroy the old order and replace it with a new one.
In the process, the approval of Merkel’s lockdown policy falls from 73% to 35% – More and more people despair of the measures and restrictions. Many citizens fear for their economic existence. 43% demand relaxations of the lockdown.
The Corona-virus suddenly offers globalist elites a historic opportunity for gigantic political, social and economic upheaval. Corona can be used as an excuse for all sorts of measures to finally implement politically what has long been pursued by neo-Marxist ideologues and globalist elites.
iFamNews: In this sense, Klaus Schwab has proposed to take advantage of the economic crisis that is currently being triggered by governments to implement a “Great Reset”.
Sven von Storch: Corona is being used as a Trojan horse to destroy Europe’s values. At its core, the global elites and the financial world are facing the biggest financial bubble in history and an urgent cause or excuse is needed to change the world so that in the end the financial elites can continue their casino game in the stock and bond markets and not be held accountable for the failure.
We shall see… New excuses will always be found to maintain and prolong the lockdown and other measures. For the crisis must continue for the elites until, in the background, the world is so changed that they can continue their game and stabilize their power. And we citizens will pay for it with the loss of living standards and freedom. Instead, a new set of values is to be imposed on us by the globalist functionaries, in which our basic values are suspended and we become prisoners of the system, as we can already observe in exemplary fashion in China.
In the so-called “new order” that is to be implemented by the “Great Reset,” our Western foundations of identity and values will no longer have any room. The culture of destruction is the ideological bracket, the maxim of action of Merkel and Schwab. This has been observed in the recent past with the issues of family, gender, nation, religion, etc. The locking up of people by the Merkel lockdown is necessary to implement the work of destruction. For only when the old is destroyed can the new be implemented.
Whoever does not want to wake up irreversibly in such a world in the foreseeable future – not just one day – and does not want to be a slave to this “new normality”, this new totalitarian neo-Marxist social order, must look this reality in the eye already today. We still have time to prevent it. We must stand up now and fight for our freedom in our surroundings and everywhere we can act.
iFamNews: Church shepherds oftentimes remain silent or are very gentle with their criticism of these developments. Many – especially believers – would like to hear clearer words. What is your opinion on this?
Sven von Storch: Since the Corona restrictions began, there have been protests (in Germany) from only a few bishops. On the contrary, the ‘lockdown course’ of the federal government, which has meanwhile lurched along in abundance, is affirmatively accompanied and repeatedly confirmed by both the Protestant and Catholic Bishops’ Conferences. First large Easter processions are already canceled. “This year, Holy Week and Easter will probably be different again than usual due to the Corona pandemic,” the German Bishops’ Conference wrote belittlingly on its website. Piece by piece, Christian life in Germany is being dismantled. With it die the Christian customs and traditions, the togetherness of the faithful, the common prayer, the spiritual experience. One looks in vain for a public storm of indignation.
But man needs a spiritual home. And the most important part of this spiritual home and identity for almost every German and European is Christianity – whether he wants it or not. Christianity has created the basis for our freedom in the West; without Christianity, this freedom would no longer exist. This also applies to non-Christians. Therefore, Christians in particular must fight for their religious freedom and make it clear to politicians that they will not allow their liturgical festivals to be “taken away” from them either.
