Celebrated actor and comedian Russell Brand has revealed his intention to be baptized, marking the end of his public exploration of Christianity’s principles. Announced through his social media, he further explained that he understands baptism as an opportunity to die, leave the past behind, and be reborn as an enlightened individual in Christ, as described in the Book of Galatians.

Brand also spoke of the increasing interest in Christianity as the meaning in the modern world deteriorates and traditional value systems crumble. He noted his plans to be baptized in the highly polluted River Thames, humorously adding that although he will be leaving behind sins, he may contract some serious diseases.

The famous actor’s journey to Christian faith has been public, with videos detailing his spiritual exploration. In the past months, he has informed his followers about his reading of the Bible, C.S. Lewis’s book ‘The Problem of Pain’, and Rick Warren’s ‘The Purpose-Driven Life’. He has confessed to needing spirituality, God, and Christ to cope with the trials of the world.
