CitizenGO calls on Alverno College to stop enrolling transgender women

Conservative action organization, CitizenGO, has launched a petition against Alverno College, a women’s-only Catholic university in Wisconsin, urging it to discontinue admitting transgender women. This drive follows the college’s 2019 amendment to its non-discrimination policy in association with the school’s “Catholic Franciscan” principles. The organization asserts that such policies jeopardize the safety and wellbeing of students and defy the college’s purpose.

These calls for change mirror the growing discontent among conservative-leaning parents, lawmakers, and school boards. The petition to Alverno College is part of a broader pushback against the progressive LGBT agenda, which appears to be losing support. Conservative campaigners across the U.S. are working to challenge the promotion and celebration of homosexuality and transgender identity. The CitizenGO petition advocates for Alverno to reverse its policy in favor of biological women by 2024-2025, thereby setting a precedent for other educational institutions considering similar policies.

Throughout the controversy, the principle that “sex is not changeable” remains a fundamental outlook held by the Catholic Church. Policies such as that of Alverno College, CitizenGO argues, pose a threat to the established understanding of gender in line with religious and personal convictions.
