Cancel culturist Andrew Cuomo blames cancel culture for his downfall

The former NY Governor made his first public appearance since sexual misconduct allegations last August. Cuomo says "God's guidance" is helping him. But NY Attorney General Letitia James isn't having any of it, calling Cuomo a "sick, pathetic man."

Ultimately, the Left eats itself. And Andrew Cuomo serves as yet another prime example of that phenomenon.

Speaking from the pulpit to congregants at a Sunday gathering at God’s Battalion of Prayer Church in Brooklyn, Cuomo explained that cancel culture is to blame for his demise. Referring to his embarrassing exit from the Governor’s office last August due to numerous sexual misconduct allegations, the 64-year old admitted that “it was ugly… probably the toughest time of my life.” Cuomo–who self-identifies as Roman Catholic–chose the predominantly Black congregation of the non-denominational church as his first step back into the public domain, admitting “I haven’t spoken about it in public yet because I wanted to talk about it here with you because God’s guidance is helping me through.”

This comes on the heels of a statewide ad which was launched last week in an effort to clear his name.

In his 20 minute speech, Cuomo referenced the firing of his brother (CNN anchor Chris Cuomo) and denounced a ‘cancel culture’ which has not only left him with few friends in and outside of the political spectrum, but has come to be identifiable with the Democratic Party at large.

He also–and, once again–drove home the point that he he did nothing in violation of the law regarding his involvement with multiple women, saying he wasn’t aware he was making any of his aides “feel uncomfortable”. Cuomo racked up the “unwanted groping, kisses, hugging, and making inappropriate comments” to being “old-fashioned and out of touch”.

Cuomo added “God isn’t finished with me yet” and that he has yet to find peace. But Cuomo was quick to allude to the state of the world today and the Democratic Party, adding “I don’t think you should be at peace either.”

With all the talk of searching for peace, invoking his faith in God, and trying to come across as a good guy wronged by the system,/targeted by adversaries, New York Attorney General Letitia James was having none of it. According to her campaign statement (James is running for re-election), “Serial sexual harasser Andrew Cuomo won’t even spare a house of worship from his lies… Even though multiple independent investigations found his victims to be credible, Cuomo continues to blame everyone but himself. Cuomo wasn’t railroaded; he quit so he wouldn’t be impeached. New Yorkers are ready to move forward from this sick, pathetic man.”

As Cuomo rails against ‘cancel culture’, one recalls his words directed at state Republicans and “right-wing conservatives” who opposed the NY SAFE Act (gun regulation law) of 2013. In an interview in January 2014, Cuomo went full-blown cancel culture when he stated, that social conservatives “have no place in the state of New York”.
