Matthew Wojciechowski, Vice President of Campaign Life Coalition (CLC), has strongly criticised the United Nations (UN) for its support of abortion, arguing that eradicating poverty cannot be achieved by eliminating the poor and unborn. Wojciechowski outlined his objections at a UN Side Event focused on the role of the family in poverty eradication and the pursuit of peace and prosperity.

He expressed concern over government bodies and international agencies prioritising population control through abortion and sterilisation as a means to reducing poverty. Referencing the teachings of Pope John Paul II, he underscored the importance of the family unit in shaping society, and how current Western ideologies seeking to redefine marriage, parenthood, procreation and gender are undermining the family.

He condemned the UN’s primary objective of funding abortions and noted Canada’s substantial budget allocations for abortion under Prime Minister Trudeau’s leadership. Pointing to the increase in Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) cases in Canada, he urged a return to the family structure as a solution for security and prosperity rather than eradicating the poor through abortion and euthanasia.
